This book's eclectic collection of paintings, drawings and prints of the bridges and buildings along the Thames are the choices of twenty contemporary artists, who were commissioned to choose their favourites and illustrate them. The result is dynamic view of the Thames in the twenty-first century. The illustrations are supported by either a story or historical commentary by Michael Harrison, who was a Thames-side dweller while teaching at Westminster School. He has written a number of children's books and edited a series of Anthologies of Poetry for Oxford University Press. About the Artists in the book: Twenty artists, aged from twenty-five to eighty-five were commissioned to illustrate their favourite bridges and buildings along the Thames. A variety of media was used - linocut, etching, pastel, oil, collage and digital enhancement.
